Marbella
Marbella remains the jewel in the Costa’s crown. The contrast of sea, mountains, village and cosmopolitan city make it no surprise that it is placed in such a category.
The town’s image was given a complete make-over by the controversial former Mayor, Jesus Gil that resulted in a massive landscaping drive.
Today, this luxurious resort town seems to have it all and is rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich and famous, as well as more average folk who are willing to spend a little bit more for Southern Spain’s answer to St Tropez.
Marbella also has also a more down to earth side. Its individuality can be seen whilst exploring the back streets of the “Old Town”, with its cobbled streets filled with small shops, bars, cafés and restaurants.
La Plaza de los Naranjos, (Orange Square), is one of the prettiest places to visit.
